Hurricanes are an annual threat. Hurricane season takes place between June and November, hitting primarily the southeastern coastal regions, but have been known to go inland or up north along the east coast.
2022 NOAA Predictions
NOAA is predicting a above-average active hurricane season. The experts are forecasting there will be 14-21 names storms, projecting 6-10 will turn into hurricanes, with 3-6 of them becoming major hurricanes.
Hazards of Hurricanes:
- Heavy rainfall and inland flooding
- High winds
- Storm surge and storm tide
- Rip Currents
- Tornadoes
Hurricanes can cause flooding, loss of electricity, water contaminations, and damage to your property. Preparing your home for potential damages and your family for loss of running water and electricity, is imperative.
