Cosmic disasters are events that spawn from space and put the existence of humanity at risk. There is evidence both here on earth and on the moon that meteors have struck the surface many times. Luckily the earth has developed a shield; and while asteroids continue to enter our planet’s atmosphere, they burn up. This might not always be the case. Depending on the size of the asteroid, it could break trough and make impact. But asteroid impact is not the only cosmic disaster threat. The earth could also be significantly impacted by solar flares or nearby supernovas.
