About 25,000 EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 power stations are recalled after six fires. If you own one, stop using it and get the free firmware fix.

A power station many households bought as their backup for a blackout has become a fire risk of its own. The Consumer Product Safety Commission and EcoFlow recalled about 25,030 Delta Max 2000 units, model EFD310, after the batteries were found to overheat and ignite. Six fires have been reported, with more than $850,000 in property damage.

The recalled units are the black and silver Delta Max 2000 with a rectangular display and six outlets, sold through Costco, Amazon, and EcoFlow from July 2022 through May 2025 for around $1,600. EcoFlow issued the recall on October 9, 2025, but a recalled unit sitting in a closet is still a hazard today, which is why it is worth a check now.

If you own one, stop using it and unplug it. EcoFlow is providing a free firmware update that corrects the overheating, and you can start the repair through EcoFlow at 833-424-4137 or on the recall page. Do not charge or discharge the unit until the update is done.

A backup battery is only worth owning if you can trust it during the outage you bought it for. Match your home battery backup to the loads you actually need, and keep the unit updated and topped off so it is ready when the grid drops.

Where it stands now, the fix is free and the fire risk is real, so this is a same-day chore rather than a someday one. Check the label on your power station, and if it reads Delta Max 2000 EFD310, start the update before you rely on it again.
