Constitutional Carry

Constitutional carry, also called permitless carry, is a state law that lets adults who may legally own a handgun carry it, openly or concealed, without first getting a permit. The rules on who is eligible, where carrying is banned and the minimum age still apply, and they differ from state to state.

Preppers meet constitutional carry when they plan to carry for protection or travel with a firearm. Many owners in these states keep a concealed carry permit anyway, because a permit can be honored in other states through reciprocity and can make buying a firearm faster.
